The whole name
Expression uses all the letters of your full name at birth, including middle names. It is traditionally associated with ways of engaging with the world: skills you practice, approaches you favor, and qualities you may choose to develop. It is not an aptitude test.
A changed or married name may have personal significance, but this report deliberately uses the birth name for a consistent baseline. It does not calculate a second identity or compare names.
Letters become numbers
The alphabet repeats through 1–9: A is 1, B is 2, through I at 9; J returns to 1. Add the letters in each name component and reduce its total, retaining 11 and 22. Then combine the component results and reduce again.
For EMMA, E + M + M + A gives 5 + 4 + 4 + 1 = 14, then 5. LOUISE totals 27 and becomes 9. MARTIN totals 30 and becomes 3. Together they give 5 + 9 + 3 = 17, then 8. Accents are normalized, and punctuation separates components in our convention.
